Tara holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Toronto as well as a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago . She has also received extensive clinical training in the fields of substance abuse and addictions and has published research in these areas. Tara is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP).

Since December 2005, Tara has been Chatelaine magazine’s “Ask an Expert” advice columnist for psychology and therapy-related issues. She is also a regular contributor to feature articles within the magazine and on the Chatelaine website.  Tara also enjoys speaking at conferences and running workshops with mental health and women’s issues-related themes.

Tara has experience working with a wide variety of psychotherapeutic and counselling issues with adolescent and adult individuals; couples, families and groups. Tara is equally as engaged with clients who require specific goal-directed and solution-focused modes of therapy, as with those who are seeking a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Tara 's non-judgemental and egalitarian approach to working with her clients allows her to offer an effective and caring therapeutic environment.
